Moong Dal originated in India over 4000 years ago, moong dal has been a staple in Ayurvedic and traditional Indian diets since ancient times. There are 3 types :
1. Whole Moong Dal (Sabut Moong Dal) - Green Skinned , Whole seeds
2. Split Moong with Skin (Chilka Moong Dal) : Split but green skinned is retained.
3. Split Moong without Skin (Yellow Moong Dal): Yellow in color , dehusked and split.
